Exceptional Energy Return

Two Zoom Air pods beneath the forefoot provide efficient energy return and responsiveness as you run. Although Zoom Air is a longstanding Nike innovation, in the Tempo NEXT% Nike has isolated the pods from the surrounding foam, which allows runners to experience greater energy return.

Propulsive Feel

A full-length plate in the midsole helps stabilize the Zoom Air pods while also providing a propulsive, smooth transition with every stride. The difference between this plate and those in Nike's racing shoes is that the Tempo NEXT% features a nylon-infused carbon plate, which isn’t as rigid. This allows for a little flexibility in the shoe and allows your foot to build strength over the course of training, while being more forgiving on the body.

Zoom Forward

Nike ZoomX foam in the footbed delivers energy return as you move forward. A visible Zoom Air unit provides responsive cushioning, giving you an additional spring with your stride.

Responsive Heel

Nike React technology in the heel is lightweight and durable. It helps keep your foot cushioned and secure with every step.

Runner-Informed Traction

The rubber outsole features a design created using data from hundreds of runners. That information helps place traction where your foot needs it most, giving you grip on multiple surfaces. In addition, there is high abrasion rubber in the heel for added durability.

Secure and Fast

The look of fast comes alive with a translucent, high-tenacity Flyknit and synthetic upper. Its secure feel helps contain your foot with every step. A midfoot cage provides extra support.
